National Home Delivery Association Announces Pinnacle Award Winners

September 10, 2019, Falls Church, VA – The National Home Delivery Association (NHDA), serving the needs and interests of individuals, companies, and organizations that deliver furniture, appliances, and electronics to the home, announced the presentation of industry honors, the Annual Pinnacle Awards, during their annual forum held in Denver Colorado in August 2019.

The NHDA Pinnacle Award recognizes outstanding professional achievement and contributions to the home delivery industry. The 2019 inaugural awards were presented to acknowledge the lifetime achievement of four of the founding directors of NHDA. The four recipients were Charles Annett, Robert Fleisher, Charles Hitt and Pat McCluskey.

Charles Annet began his transportation career at Ryder Systems where he quickly was promoted through several levels of responsibility. He was recruited by A&F Transportation Company, which he later purchased. He focused the company efforts on final mile logistics and grew the company to today’s FSA Logistix. In 2018, he moved from President and CEO to Executive Chairman to focus on strategic growth. Earlier this year FSA Logistix was acquired by Forward Air – Last Mile.

Robert Fleisher spent more than 30 years in the logistics field before serving as President of Merchants Home Delivery, Allied Van Lines and Global Van Lines. He then formed REF Logistics which is now known as Home Delivery Link. He has received multiple industry awards for quality including the Malcom Baldridge Award. In 2018, he transitioned from President and CEO to Chairman, Founder and Owner.

Charles Hitt began his career at Merchants Home Delivery and grew to being their Director of Operations. He then served as Senior Vice President for GeoLogistics and Chief Operating Officer at Affinity Logistics. He joined 3PD in 2007 where he led operations in executive roles until it was acquired by XPO. At XPO he took on the role of Chief Strategy Officer then President before his retirement in 2018.

Pat McCluskey spent over 20 years at Montgomery Ward and Company where he held several operational management positions and was responsible for securing and managing the 3rd party Last Mile and Dedicated Store Shuttle operations. He then co-founded Fox River Services, a network of last mile operations companies. Fox River Services provides contractual bookkeeping, compliance, human resource, administrative and management support to operations in the last mile delivery.

“Each honoree has made a lasting impact on their companies, the association and our industry. Beyond their professional success, each has left a legacy of service to others and demonstrates the highest standards of professionalism for the home delivery industry,” said Geoff Chasin, Chair of the NHDA Pinnacle Awards Dinner and President of NRX Logistics. “On behalf of the industry and NHDA, we wanted to thank them.”
